Entering your 30s is often seen as a stage when life slows down, and routines take over, but experts and millennials say it can also be a decade of growth, exploration, and personal development.
Nutritionist Carmina D. Olivenza, MRDM, RND, said the 30s are a critical period for laying the foundation of long-term wellness.
“This is the stage when wellness must become proactive rather than reactive,” she said. “Many adults are not meeting recommended intakes for vitamins C and D, iron, and key B-vitamins—nutrients that support immunity, energy metabolism, and cognitive performance. Ensuring adequate intake every day helps maintain strong immunity, steady energy, and sharp mental focus.”
Award-winning actress Bea Alonzo, who represents wellness initiatives for adults, said her 30s have been a time to embrace balance and self-care.

“You’re wiser, stronger, and more confident in your own skin,” the Birch Tree Adult Boost ambassador said. “I started to really focus on what truly makes me happy: my health, my growth, and the people I love. It’s liberating to realize that age doesn’t define you; how you take care of yourself does.”

Research suggests that Filipino millennials in their 30s are increasingly prioritizing health, self-care, and meaningful experiences. Studies published in the Philippine Social Science Journal and Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal show that many actively seek new experiences, value authentic relationships, and focus on contributing to their communities.
Filipino millennials interviewed for the studies said their 30s are a time to explore the world and invest in deeper connections.
One respondent noted, “I travel more now than I did in my 20s, but I also focus on friendships and relationships that really matter. It feels more fulfilling.”
Another said, “Volunteering and helping others gives me purpose, and I feel stronger and more capable when I take care of myself first.”
Olivenza emphasized that maintaining energy and mental clarity requires consistent attention to nutrition and lifestyle.
“Supporting your body with the right nutrients and habits in your 30s isn’t just about today—it’s about creating a foundation for decades to come,” she said.
Experts say prioritizing wellness in your 30s can help sustain vitality for both personal and professional life, making it a decade not to fear but to embrace.
