Science behind instant hair transformation

Hair has long been seen as a person’s crowning glory, a quiet marker of health, including confidence and self-expression.

In the Philippines, where heat, humidity, and long days on the move are part of daily life, hair care goes beyond style and becomes a practical need. How hair looks and feels can shape first impressions and affect comfort, making effective everyday care an essential part of modern routines.

Hair care brand Vitress highlighted that idea at an interactive demonstration held at Watsons Mall of Asia on Nov. 22, focusing on the science behind quick-acting hair products designed for local conditions.

The event, called InstaGlam with Vitress, featured actress and singer-songwriter Maris Racal and drew shoppers, influencers, and Watsons executives to the mall’s main entrance. The showcase centered on how specific formulations address common hair concerns such as frizz caused by humidity, dryness, dullness, and odor from heat and long commutes

Vitress Cuticle Coat Classic, marketed under its InstaShine line, uses a silicone-based blend that coats hair strands to smooth the cuticle and add shine without a heavy or oily feel. Vitress Keratin Shine, or InstaRepair, combines keratin with pro-vitamins B5 and E to help condition and soften dry or rough hair. Vitress Hair Freshener, known as InstaFresh, uses deodorizing technology to neutralize odor while keeping hair smooth.

These products were demonstrated through on-site activities that allowed visitors to see and feel changes immediately after application.

Racal said she prefers a simple hair care routine despite a schedule filled with shoots and performances.

“My routine is very simple,” she said. “I wash my hair once a day and get treatments every now and then. Whenever my hair feels dry, I apply Vitress on the ends to add shine and make it look put-together.”

She said she trusts products that have been on the market for years, noting that she has used Vitress since high school. Racal added that good hair helps her feel prepared for work and public appearances while keeping her focus on personal comfort rather than external pressure.

Vitress has been in the Philippine market for about two decades and has been named Hair Styling Brand of the Year at the Watsons Health & Beauty Awards from 2017 to 2025.

Vitress products are sold nationwide at Watsons stores and through online platforms including Watsons.com.ph, Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop.
