Balancing health and indulgence during the holidays

The holiday season often brings packed schedules, shared meals, and weeks of celebrations that can quietly push health to the background. Amid the festive rush, being mindful of one’s well-being becomes essential, not as a form of restriction but as a way to stay balanced and energized throughout the season.

As the Philippines enters another extended Christmas period marked by family gatherings and rich holiday meals, LAC Philippines is encouraging Filipinos to practice mindful eating and balanced nutrition to help manage the health impact of seasonal indulgence.

Holiday celebrations in the country often center on food, from traditional dishes to festive drinks shared over several months. While these occasions are closely tied to Filipino culture, the National Nutrition Council has repeatedly advised moderation, noting that excessive intake of rich food and alcohol may affect digestion, liver health, and weight.

The council continues to promote mindful eating and balanced meals based on the Pinggang Pinoy model, particularly during the holidays. Health officials have said overindulgence can strain the liver, disrupt digestion, and contribute to longer-term health concerns.

LAC Philippines recommends portion control, hydration, and regular physical activity to support digestion and energy during the holidays

LAC Philippines said simple habits such as portion control, staying hydrated, and maintaining regular physical activity can help support digestion and energy levels throughout the season. The company is also promoting targeted nutritional support as part of a broader approach to holiday wellness.

Among the products highlighted is LAC Activated Liver Protector, which the company said is designed to support liver function during periods of increased food and alcohol intake. The supplement contains a blend of Traditional Chinese Medicine herbs, including Sanchi, red peony root, hawthorn fruit, lotus leaf, and turmeric, which are commonly associated with liver support and fat metabolism.

LAC also cited LAC LeanCut Belli Lean as an option for individuals who experience bloating or discomfort after heavy meals. The product contains medium-chain triglycerides and a plant-based blend intended to support fat metabolism and reduce water retention, according to the company.

The company said the goal of mindful eating during the holidays is balance rather than restriction, allowing people to enjoy traditional celebrations while supporting overall health.
