Former Pinoy Big Brother: Otso housemates Karina Bautista and Aljon Mendoza reunite in the upcoming iWant original movie The Last Resort, premiering Dec. 8 exclusively on the streaming platform.
The film, set at the tranquil La Mera Resort, follows a series of suspicious deaths of married male guests, which management repeatedly attributes to accidents.
Bautista plays Katrina, a housekeeper with hidden motives, while Mendoza stars as Jacob, a visitor whose arrival coincides with the surge in mysterious incidents.
The cast also includes Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11 alum Patrick Ramirez, Elyson De Dios, Rania Lindayag, Paulo Angeles, John Arcenas, Randy Villarama, Emma Viri, and Brian Scott Lomboy. The movie departs from the typical romantic image associated with the “KarJon” pairing, giving the actors an opportunity to explore more complex roles.
Directed by Christian Paolo Lat, The Last Resort combines psychological tension with immersive storytelling, exploring themes of vengeance, suspicion, trauma, and the hidden lives of seemingly ordinary people.
