QUEZON CITY – The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) Metro Manila Cluster Museums in cooperation with the Rotary Club of San Juan Del Monte and the SPED Center Batino Elementary School bring together TAV (Touch the Artists’ Vision) Goes to Quezon City on 9 December 2025, 8:00 am at the Batino Elementary School, Batino St., Project 3, Quezon City.
An experiential tour will be facilitated by NHCP museum curators and staff to guide learners in discovering our national heroes such as Dr. Jose Rizal, Melchora Aquino, Gregoria de Jesus, Andres Bonifacio and more, through the exhibit. The story of Ang Batang Babaeng Nagtitinda ng Posporo (Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Match Girl translated into Tagalog by Rizal) will be shared through a storytelling session. 150 participants who have low vision, are blind and deaf, with intellectual disability and autism, from both Batino Elementary School and Quirino High School will be invited to take part in the event.
TAV is a non-government group that has long advocated for the rights and welfare of blind individuals, providing them with access to art forms in museums. The group actively encourages museums and galleries to transform their displays into tactile and 3D models, allowing artwork appreciation through the sense of touch.
The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote Philippine history through its museums, research, and publications, and to preserve historical heritage through conservation and the marking of historic sites and structures.
