Sunshine Place sets watercolor workshop for holiday season

The Sunshine Place Watercolor Community will hold a holiday-themed workshop this month as part of its ongoing masterclass series.

The sessions, led by watercolor instructor Jen Consumido, are scheduled for Dec. 6 and Dec. 20 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Sunshine Place. Consumido, who has taught several classes at the center, will guide participants through still life subjects, landscapes, and classic Christmas scenes.

Organizers said the workshop will focus on creating artworks alla prima, a technique that emphasizes spontaneity and fresh brushwork.
