Vice President Sara Duterte urged Filipinos on Bonifacio Day to draw inspiration from Andres Bonifacio’s sacrifice in fighting for justice, equality, and a better future for the nation.
In a video statement released on November 30, Duterte honored the Philippine hero, emphasizing his courage and patriotism.
“Ngayong araw, ating bigyang pugay ang kagitingan at nag-aalab na katapangan ni Andres Bonifacio,” she said.
(Today, let us pay tribute to the bravery and fiery courage of Andres Bonifacio.)
She added that the nation must remember his heroism and carry forward the spirit of patriotism and unity among all Filipinos.
“Kasama ang buong bayan, gunitain natin ang kanyang kabayanihan, at buhayin ang diwa ng patriotismo at pagkakaisa sa puso ng bawat Pilipino,” she added.
(Together with the entire nation, let us commemorate his heroism, and revive the spirit of patriotism and unity in the hearts of every Filipino.)
Today, November 30, the second part of the large anti-corruption rally is scheduled to take place at the EDSA People Power Monument and Luneta Park, while additional anti-corruption protests are also expected across the country.
