Philippine bet Myrna Esguerra finished as 4th runner-up at the Miss International 2025 pageant held Thursday night in Tokyo, Japan.
The coveted crown went to Colombian model Catalina Duque, who succeeded Vietnam’s Huynh Thi-Thanh Thuy as the new Miss International.
Duque is the fourth Colombian woman to win the international beauty title.
Rounding out the top placements were Miss Zimbabwe Yolanda Chimbarami as 1st runner-up, Miss Bolivia Paola Guzman as 2nd runner-up, and Miss Indonesia Melliza Yulian as 3rd runner-up.

During the final Q&A, Esguerra spoke about her Miss International journey, noting its impact on her life. She shared that she made 79 international friends, learned selflessness, and was inspired to start a project to empower others.
“I will tell to my mama that I just gained 79 more siblings among my 16 siblings back home. Miss International taught me to be selfless, and it taught me the value of having friends from all around the world, and I’m so grateful for this opportunity because I learned to help everyone in here who needs my help,“ the beauty queen said.
”And above all, it made me a better person, a human that cares, because I was able to create my project and with that, it is my tribute to all the people who helped me,“ she continued.
The Philippines has yet to win its seventh Miss International crown, having claimed the title six times.
The first Filipina to win was Gemma Cruz-Araneta in 1964, followed by Aurora Pijuan in 1970 and Melanie Marquez in 1979. After a long gap, Precious Lara Quigaman won in 2005, Bea Rose Santiago in 2013, and Kylie Verzosa in 2016.
