Miss Universe president Raul Rocha linked to alleged trafficking operations—report

Miss Universe president Raul Rocha is facing allegations in Mexico, after a report claimed he has been charged with drug, arms and fuel trafficking between Guatemala and Mexico.

On Thursday, “People Magazine” cited Mexican newspaper “Reforma,” saying Rocha is considered by Mexico’s Attorney General’s Office (FGR) to be an alleged leader of a criminal organization accused of smuggling fuel by boat through the Usumacinta River and transporting it by truck to Querétaro. The report alleged that Rocha is also linked to the trafficking of narcotics and firearms.

The newspaper further stated that Yazmín Mayoral Marín, an agent of Mexico’s Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime, requested an arrest warrant for Rocha on Aug. 6, tied to the organized crime accusations.

The FGR reportedly raided several properties and recovered alleged records of Rocha’s monetary contributions to the group, including one worth 2.1 million Mexican pesos.

The arrest warrant obtained by “Reforma” reportedly claims the syndicate has “connections with politicians and authorities at all three levels of government” to facilitate its operations. The outlet also reported that Rocha approached the FGR in October to discuss a potential plea deal in exchange for legal immunity.

Rocha has not publicly responded to the latest allegations.

The development follows a controversy-marred Miss Universe 2025 pageant that saw walkouts, rigging accusations and a queen’s resignation.
