MAMA Awards taps top K-pop idols to re-create HUNTR/X and Saja Boys live onstage

The 2025 MAMA Awards is bringing the world of “KPop Demon Hunters” to the live stage, tapping top K-pop idols to portray HUNTR/X and the Saja Boys in a special collaboration performance.

On Wednesday, Nov. 26, the MAMA Awards revealed that members from several rising groups have been tapped to portray the fictional groups from the Netflix blockbuster. Pharita, Ahyeon and Rora of BABYMONSTER will take on the roles of HUNTR/X, the girl group in the film that uses music and magic to battle demons.

Meanwhile, the Saja Boys, undercover demons who pose as a boy band, will be brought to life by Leehan of BOYNEXTDOOR, Wonbin of RIIZE, Shinyu of TWS, and Park Gunwook and Han Yujin of ZEROBASEONE.

The MAMA Awards will take place on Nov. 28 and Nov. 29 at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong, with HBO Max streaming the show for Filipino audiences. 

The two-day event will also feature performances by G-Dragon, Stray Kids, Super Junior, ENHYPEN, (G)I-DLE, TXT, aespa, and more. Hollywood star Michelle Yeoh is also expected to appear as a presenter alongside cast members of “KPop Demon Hunters.”

Released in June, “KPop Demon Hunters” became Netflix’s most-watched film and produced a chart-topping soundtrack led by “Golden,” which earned multiple Grammy nominations.
