THE Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) will spearhead the celebration of this year’s Urban Poor Solidarity Week in different parts of the country.
The event will kick off on Nov. 25-27 in Barobo, Surigao del Sur and on Nov. 29-30 in Zamboanga City.
The weeklong affair officially starts on Dec. 2 in Quezon City, Dec. 3 at the Island Garden City of Samal, Dec. 4 in San Fernando, Pampanga, and Cotabato City, and will end on Dec. 5 in Cebu City.
Anchored on the theme “Sama-sama sa pag-ALPAS sa Bagong Pilipinas,” this year’s event underscores the shared commitment of government, partner institutions, and urban poor organizations to work together in promoting inclusive growth, community empowerment, and poverty alleviation through the ALPAS Komunidad Flagship Project of the agency, the PCUP said.
