BOC, ITC launch project to strengthen digital trade

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) and the International Trade Centre (ITC) have launched the JP Digital-PINAS Output 3.2 Project, an initiative to modernize e-commerce processes and strengthen the country’s digital trade environment.

Introduced through an online kick-off meeting, the project focuses on an ICT-enabled clearance system that streamlines procedures, lowers costs, and enhances transparency in cross-border e-commerce.

ITC Trade Facilitation Adviser Timothée Bruneteau said the program will support capacity-building and sustainable digital reforms within Customs.

Collector Wilnora L. Cawile said the initiative aligns with Customs Administrative Order No. 01-2025 and builds on earlier digitalization under ARISE Plus Philippines.

Funded by the UN Joint SDG Fund and implemented with DICT, UNDP, ILO, and other partners, JP Digital-PINAS aims to strengthen MSME competitiveness as Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno reaffirmed BOC’s commitment to digital transformation.
