Deputy Majority Leader Patrick Michael Vargas and Quezon City Fifth District on Friday renewed his commitment to advancing laws that safeguard the health, well-being, and future of Filipino children
Vargas made the statement as the country marked National Children’s Day yesterday, Nov. 21, 2025.
Citing the need for stronger government support systems, Vargas highlighted three legislative measures aimed at ensuring that every child grows up healthy, protected, and able to reach their full potential.
Among the legislator’s proposed measures are the Expanded Mandatory Infants and Children Health Immunization Act (HB 3769), Teachers of Children with Disability Enhancement Act (HB 5086), and Children’s Vision Improvement and Learning Readiness Act (HB 5670), all pending with the various House Committees.
These measures collectively aim to expand access to life-saving immunizations, ensure early detection and treatment of vision problems, and equip teachers with specialized training to better support children with disabilities.
“As we honor our children today, we must also confront realities that hinder their growth,” said Vargas.
“Good health, proper education, and a secure future are the rights of every Filipino child,” he added.
The lawmaker called on all sectors to prioritize child welfare in both policy and practice.
“A future built for children is a future we can all be proud of,” he said.
