Dancer-actress AC Bonifacio has withdrawn from the upcoming K-pop thriller film “Perfect Girl” after sustaining injuries in a motorcycle accident while in Bangkok for filming.
AC had been in Thailand for nearly a month for rehearsals and shoot schedules when the accident occurred during her day off. She rode a motorcycle taxi to a weekend market when the vehicle slipped, causing her to fall on her right shoulder.
“It wasn’t anything crazy we just slipped. I blocked my fall with my arm. Kasi if not, it could have been worse,” she said.
AC recalled trying to stand but realizing she could not move because of the pain. Medical tests later confirmed she had a fractured humerus that required surgery.
“It was a clean break, the orthos are saying I’m lucky to have,” AC added.
Although several weeks of scenes had already been filmed, the production team decided to recast the role and reshoot her sequences, prioritizing her recovery. AC stressed that the decision was mutual.
A steel plate has been inserted in her arm, and she is expected to undergo six weeks of healing followed by physical therapy.
AC has returned to the Philippines and remains part of ABS-CBN’s upcoming series “Roja.”
