Palawan lands on Frommer’s ‘Best Places to Go in 2026’ list

Palawan continues to shine on the world stage after being named one of Frommer’s “Best Places to Go in 2026,” reaffirming its status as a global bucket-list destination.

The latest recognition comes from editors and contributors of the famed travel guide, who selected Palawan alongside cities and regions such as Chicago in the United States, Oulu in Finland, Algarve in Portugal, Adelaide in Australia, Patagonia Azul in Argentina, Vienna in Austria, and Costa Navarino in Greece.

Margarita Nograles, chief operating officer of the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), said the honor reflects not only the province’s scenic treasures but also the people who protect them.

“When destinations like Palawan are celebrated, what the world is really seeing are the communities behind them; the stewards who protect every reef, forest, and shoreline,” Nograles said. “That’s what makes the Philippines special. Every traveler contributes to something lasting.”

The tropical paradise has earned numerous global nods over the years, including its recent spot on Condé Nast Traveler’s list of top islands in Asia alongside Boracay and Siargao.

Palawan remains famous for its beaches and lagoons, as well as attractions like the Puerto Princesa Underground River and Calauit Safari.
