Chocolate Lover Inc., a well-known baking-supply store in Cubao recognized for its castle-like building, will close on Dec. 27, its owner announced Tuesday.
Owner Annie Carmona-Lim, otherwise known as “Chocolate Queen,” said in a social-media post that the shop will continue regular operations through the Christmas season, including the sale of fast-moving items such as chocolates, buttercream and nuts. Then she thanked suppliers, students and customers for their support throughout the years.

Lim said the closure is due to her children choosing not to take over the business, as they are now based abroad. She added that she plans to spend more time with family and is stepping back from managing day-to-day operations.
The property along P. Tuazon remains for sale. With no buyer yet, the family is considering renting out the building and will post updates on the store’s Facebook page.
Founded in 1989 with P6,000 in capital after Lim’s recovery from cancer, Chocolate Lover grew into a popular destination for baking enthusiasts, known for its distinctive castle-style façade.
