Oyo Boy Sotto is getting candid about one of the darkest seasons of his life.
In a recent episode of the House of D vlog, the actor revealed that he once struggled with drug use and destructive habits — a chapter he now considers closed.
“Sa experience ko, corrupt din ako dati, di ba? I was corrupted–– nagsisinungaling ako, nambabae, nag dru-drugs, umiinom, nag sisigarilyo,” Oyo admitted, adding that everything began to shift “when I met Jesus–– nung nagkaroon ako ng relasyon sa kanya–– doon naayos yung buhay ko.”
He shared that at his lowest point, he had blown most of his earnings and savings because of substance abuse and drinking. “The time I was doing drugs, naubos na yung pera ko, naubos na yung savings ko,” he recalled. He said he even had to borrow a car after selling all of his own and ended up staying with his father, Vic Sotto.
Oyo said hitting rock bottom became his wake-up call. “Kailangan kong humampas yung mukha ko sa putik bago ko marealize na hindi ko pala kaya ‘to,” he said.
According to the actor, true transformation came with sincere repentance. “True repentance brings change para sa akin. If you’re just gonna say sorry, uulitin mo lang yun,” he shared.
“Nung sinabi ko na di ko pala kaya to mag-isa, hindi talaga. Wala talaga,” he ended.
