Fisher Mall supports cancer patients through holiday shopping drive

Fisher Mall has turned its annual holiday tradition into a charitable cause, working with Bahay Aruga – A Free Halfway House for Pediatric Cancer Patients Inc. to raise funds through its “A Holiday of Hope” tree lighting celebration and a special shopping initiative.

The mall’s commitment to community and compassion is centered on the Fisher Elite Card. A portion of the proceeds from every card sold at the Fisher Mall Supermarket and the Fisher Department Store at both its Quezon Avenue and Malabon branches until Dec. 31, 2025, will be directly donated to Bahay Aruga.

These funds are designated to provide essential support for children battling cancer, covering nourishment, daily care, medical assistance and learning activities, the mall developer said in a statement.

The partnership, which began in 2023, demonstrates how everyday shopping can be transformed into meaningful community support.

Fisher Mall Group of Companies president Raymond Del Rosario expressed the company’s mission. “As we light our Christmas trees in both our malls, we also light hearts with hope,” Del Rosario said.

“We invite everyone to get into the season of giving as we come together as one community to make a lasting difference,” he said.

The official tree-lighting events, held at both mall locations, served as a grand launch for the holiday season, bringing together families, shoppers, partners and local officials.

The celebrations included live performances by the Quezon City Symphonic Band, Malabon Concert Singers, and Ballet Manila. Adding a creative touch, the mall featured a Christmas-themed LEGO display organized by the PinoyLUG community, led by Leslie Araujo.

“Fisher Mall has always believed in creating spaces where people feel connected,” Del Rosario said, adding that the mall’s activity centers are built as platforms for performers, cultural groups and local organizations.

“Events like this remind us that a mall is more than just a place to shop because it is also a space for the community to gather, express themselves and thrive,” he said.
