K-pop girl group NewJeans has officially resumed working under ADOR, ending a year-long dispute with the label that halted its promotions.
On Thursday, Nov. 13, members Minji, Hanni and Danielle said in a joint statement that they decided to return to the label “after careful and thorough discussions.”
ADOR later announced that Haerin and Hyein had also agreed to resume activities, completing the five-member lineup.
The development came weeks after the Seoul Central District Court ruled that the members must continue honoring their exclusive contracts with ADOR, a subsidiary of HYBE.
The dispute began in November 2024 when NewJeans declared they were terminating their contracts, accusing ADOR of mishandling their careers and removing founding producer Min Hee-jin from her CEO post. ADOR denied the allegations and sought an injunction preventing the group from working elsewhere—a request the court granted in March.
The Seoul court later rejected NewJeans’ argument that their trust in the label had been “irreparably damaged,” prompting the group to return. Shares of HYBE rose about 4.5 percent following the announcement.
NewJeans, who debuted in 2022 with hits like “Attention” and “Hype Boy,” is expected to restart full-group activities soon, though no comeback schedule has been announced.
