Actor Darren Criss has officially joined the ranks of Grammy nominees.
The Filipino-American actor and singer is nominated for Best Musical Theater Album for the cast recording of Maybe Happy Ending, the Broadway musical that also earned him a Tony Award earlier this year.
In an Instagram Story, Criss expressed gratitude to the Recording Academy for recognizing the project, referring to it as “our little light.”
“It’s an honor to be nominated, especially alongside so many friends and colleagues working on Broadway. Very proud to be representing our industry at the Grammys!” he wrote.
Criss made history at the 2025 Tony Awards when he became the first known Asian actor to win Best Actor in a Musical for his performance in Maybe Happy Ending, while also sharing a producing win when the show took home Best Musical.
The 2026 Grammy Awards will be held early next year.
