COREnergy, the retail electricity arm of Vivant Energy Corp., said its customers have collectively saved P300 million since 2023 through its retail energy solutions program, which allows them to choose their own power suppliers.
COREnergy president Francis Del Val said the company is aggressively expanding this year to empower more businesses with simple, flexible, and transparent energy solutions.
Del Val noted that COREnergy focuses on savings, simplicity, and performance. It offers transparent pricing and flexible plans, such as the Sunshine Plan and Day & Night Plan, allowing customers to choose the most cost-efficient setup for their operations.
Guided by its promise of “The Power of Choice,” COREnergy helps enterprises control their energy decisions and use smarter, data-driven management to generate savings that drive growth.
“Our role is to make energy work for businesses,” Del Val said. “Whether it’s helping clients unlock savings, simplifying their transition to open access, or using data to guide better energy decisions, COREnergy gives customers real control over their energy consumption.”
He said that while pricing differs for each solutions provider and region, “what we are able to commit is that against distribution utility we’re able to offer roughly about 10 percent to 15 percent savings against the electricity bill, which can be quite significant.”
Del Val added that each client is supported by a dedicated relationship manager who ensures a smooth transition to open access and provides continuous support. COREnergy’s strong customer focus has earned it a 91 percent satisfaction score as of August 2025.
Through the MyPower Platform, COREnergy gives clients access to real-time consumption data. Its granularity allows consumers to effectively manage costs and make smarter energy decisions.
“We’re not just providing electricity. We’re providing clarity and confidence,” Del Val said. “By helping customers plug into progress, we’re turning energy from being a cost into an advantage.”
Marko Sarmiento, COREnergy head of sales, is optimistic about the company’s growth, expecting to end the year with 60 customers and grow to 120 to 150 by 2026.
Sarmiento also welcomed the Energy Regulatory Commission’s (ERC) move to lower the eligibility threshold for consumers to choose their own suppliers to 100 kilowatts (kW) by June 2026, down from 500 kW at present.
“We feel this is a major shift in the industry. Currently it’s at 500 kW. So bringing it down to 100 kW obviously opens up the space dramatically,” he said.
