AboitizPower’s Task Force Tino

AboitizPower’s electricity companies send power restoration teams to Cebu. Davao Light and Cotabato Light deployed a total of 26 personnel to the franchise area of their sister company, Visayan Electric, to help restore power lines that were damaged by Typhoon Tino (international name Kalmaegi). The typhoon hit some parts of Mindanao and Southern Luzon, but mostly the Visayas, making landfall in Cebu, Southern Leyte, Negros Occidental, Guimaras, and Iloilo. The task force from Davao Light is composed of 10 linemen led by an operations manager, bringing with them two crane trucks. Meanwhile, the group from Cotabato Light is made up of 13 linemen and two safety officers, who brought along two boom trucks, a utility vehicle, and tools. Visayan Electric, Davao Light, and Cotabato Light are distribution utilities under Aboitiz Power Corporation, with the former two being the second and third largest distribution utilities in the Philippines, respectively. Visayan Electric serves the cities of Cebu, Mandaue, Talisay, and Naga, and the municipalities of Liloan, Consolacion, Minglanilla, and San Fernando in greater Metro Cebu.
