Singer-actress Rita Daniela shared that she underwent multiple therapy sessions to cope with the trauma she experienced from comedy actor Archie Alemania, whom she accused of sexual misconduct in 2024.
In an interview, the singer-actress revealed that she sought professional help after filing a complaint against Archie. She emphasized the importance of therapy in her recovery process.
“I’ve had therapies. I actually went back to therapy. It’s not as simple as saying I just talked to a friend or spent time with my family. I needed to go through that process to overcome what happened and get to where I am now,” Rita said.
The actress recently won the case, with the court sentencing Alemania to up to one year in jail and ordering him to pay P20,000 in civil indemnity and P20,000 in moral damages.
She also said that she is now in a better place but admitted that the healing process was difficult.
Rita earlier dedicated her court victory to other victims of abuse.
“This is also for all the women and men who were abused, harassed, and molested but didn’t have the voice or platform to fight for their own rights,” she wrote.
