To make this easier, Smart Communications launched the Smart Multi SIM, a travel-ready SIM that lets non-eSIM Android phones use multiple eSIM profiles without switching devices.
The Multi SIM functions as an eSIM adapter through the Smart Multi SIM app, enabling users to manage and switch between eSIM profiles without needing to change physical SIM cards. Travelers can store up to five eSIM profiles on one Multi SIM, with one active at a time.
Smart said the device targets travelers who rely on mobile data for navigation, messaging, and bookings but whose phones do not support eSIM technology. The company noted that many mid-range and older Android models are not eSIM-capable.
Users can check compatibility by downloading the Multi SIM app on the Google Play Store. After setup, customers insert the Multi SIM and manage profiles through the app.
The SIM includes a starter bundle with 5 GB of local data, 300 SMS, and 30 minutes of calls, valid for three days. It is prepaid and does not require a credit card.
The Multi SIM is available through the Smart Online Store, Smart retail outlets, and authorized sellers nationwide. Smart said stored eSIM profiles remain on the SIM even if one expires, and profiles can be transferred between devices as long as the same Multi SIM is used.
