President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Tuesday hailed this year’s recipients of the Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos Award, calling the awardees models of integrity
In a ceremony held at Heroes Hall in Malacañan Palace, the President conferred the Medallion of Excellence to 10 teachers, soldiers, and police officers who were recognized for their exemplary contributions to education, public safety, and community service.
“It is always with the greatest pride, honor, and pleasure that I honor the Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos,” Mr. Marcos said in his speech.
“You are exemplary individuals who have gone the extra mile to transform lives and uplift communities,” he added.
The President praised the awardees as symbols of honesty and dedication amid challenges that have tested public confidence in government.
“At a time when our nation faces many challenges that shake our people’s trust in our institutions, your stories once again give us reason to believe in the goodness of our people,” Marcos said.
“They remind us that integrity and excellence must be at the heart of the work that we all do,” he added.
Among those honored were Police Master Sergeant Ivan Velasco, Police Major Elmira Relox, Police Colonel Frederick Obar, Underwater Operationsman First Class Anro Anthony Turallo (Philippine Navy), Colonel Ricky Canatoy (Philippine Army), Colonel Joey Fontiveros (Philippine Army), Noel Sadinas, Armando Perfecto Molin, Mylene Uy, and Dr. Angelo Mark Walag.
