A total of 29 senior citizen couples gathered at the Taguig Convention Center over the weekend to renew their marriage vows, proving that true love only grows stronger through time.
Mayor Laarni Cayetano graced the event as part of the city’s National Elderly Month 2025 celebration, which paid tribute to couples who have shared over 50 years together.
The city’s Office of Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA) organized the event that featured a symbolic cake and wine ceremony, serving as a touching reminder of the joy and togetherness that come with a lifetime of love.
The heartfelt ceremony included touching speeches and performances that highlighted the enduring bonds of love and companionship. Many couples also shared their secrets to a lasting marriage, inspiring younger generations to cherish and nurture their relationships.
Pastor Gerry Viray reminded the couples that their enduring love and faith serve as an inspiration to the younger generation. He emphasized that a marriage built on love, respect, and faith in God can truly stand the test of time.
Mayor Cayetano personally extended her blessings to each couple, who each sealed their renewal of vows with a heartfelt kiss. She expressed how deeply honored she was to be part of such a meaningful occasion:
“Truly, God has been faithful to the lives of these 29 couples. I am just counting the years—50 long years. What a manifestation of God’s grace and faithfulness. Thank you for sharing this beautiful moment with us, for all Taguigeños, and for all Filipinos to see.”
