In a meaningful flag-raising ceremony held today, the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) formally opened the celebration of its 121st anniversary under the theme “PUP@121: Inspiring, Uplifting, Transforming.” The community renewed its commitment to public service and progress toward a brighter future for every PUPian.
The opening program underscored the University’s push to expand access to quality education, advance innovative research, and strengthen community engagement. This year’s theme reflects PUP’s three pillars: to inspire, uplift, and transform—from the classroom to wider civic initiatives.

The ceremony also paid tribute to the second term of the University’s 19th President, Dr. Manuel M. Muhi, widely regarded as a steady guide and “father” of the PUP community. Highlights of his continuing agenda include reforms focused on instructional quality, digital transformation, and more inclusive student services.
A month-long roster of activities is expected—academic forums, community outreach, recognition programs, and cultural showcases—uniting campuses and spotlighting the excellence and service ethos of the Iskolar ng Bayan.

Now in its 121st year, PUP remains steadfast in its mission to prepare a new generation of patriotic, capable, and dependable professionals—inspiring, uplifting, and transforming the nation, one PUPian at a time.
