The Philippines and India marked the return of direct air service with Air India’s inaugural New Delhi-Manila flight from Indira Gandhi International Airport on October 2.
Philippine Ambassador to India Josel Ignacio said the launch reflects confidence in the viability of the route, citing its role in boosting business, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
The restored service complements recent visa relaxations: the Philippines now allows 14-day visa-free entry for Indians, while India grants free e-visas for Filipinos.
The non-stop flight, numbered AI 2362 and AI 2361 for the return, lasts about 6.5 hours and will operate five times a week.
Ignacio said the route highlights both countries’ commitment to stronger ties across trade, tourism, and cultural engagement.
