Tomorrow’s champions to take spotlight at 5th NAC Siklab Youth Sports Award

The brightest young athletes of the Philippines will take the spotlight at the 5th Nickel Asia Corporation (NAC) Siklab Youth Sports Awards, set on October 11 at the Grand Ballroom of Diamond Hotel Manila.

This year’s edition highlights the Youth Heroes Awardees, headlined by weightlifters Jay-R Colonia, Alexandra Ann Diaz, Althea Bacaro, Jhodie Peralta, and Albert Ian Delos Santos. Their standout performances at the 2025 World Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships in Lima, Peru powered the Philippines to the overall championship among 33 nations, with a haul of 10 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze medals.

Other honorees include junior standouts from various sports: gymnast Karl Eldrew Yulo, golfer Rianne Malixi, track athlete Pi Durden Wangkay, taekwondo jin Dean Darnet Venerable, tennis ace Tenny Madis, triathlete Kira Ellis, and volleyball player Sam Cantada. Yulo, the younger brother of Olympic champion Carlos Yulo, will be recognized for the fifth straight year, cementing his reputation as one of the country’s most promising athletes.

Seven-year-old jiujitsu sensation Aielle Aguilar makes her return as a three-time Super Kids awardee after another triumph at the Pan Kids IBJJF Tournament in Orlando, Florida—the world’s largest youth jiujitsu event. Joining her in the Super Kids roster are boxer Xian Baguhin, fencer Sophia Catantan, judoka Kyra Abella, and karateka Joan Denise Lumbao.

Top achievers from the 2025 Palarong Pambansa will also be honored, including swimmer Titus Sia, archer Naina Tagle, chess player Mar Aviel Carredo, dancesport athlete Bhenz Rudolf Owen Semilla, and gymnast King Cjay Pernia. The Batang Pinoy Games will be represented by standout athletes Albert Jose Amaro II (swimming), Hazel May Risma (athletics), Haylee Garcia (gymnastics), Mariano Matteo Medina IV (archery), and Arvin Naeem Taguinota II (swimming).

In total, 72 awardees will be recognized by the PSC-PPC-POC Media Group. Three special distinctions will also be conferred: Olympic champion Carlos Yulo as Sports Idol of the Year, gymnastics president Cynthia Carrion with the Lifetime Achievement Award, and golf patron Christian Gonzalez as Godfather of the Year.

The event is supported by the Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee, CEL Logistics, MVPSF, Smart/PLDT, and Go For Gold.
