The combined effects of the southwest monsoon (habagat) and tropical cyclones Mirasol, Nando, and Opong have affected 1,080,389 families, or 4,126,499 individuals, across 8,791 barangays in 16 regions, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported Wednesday.
At least 22,624 families remain in 1,123 evacuation centers, while 11,528 families are receiving aid outside shelters.
The NDRRMC recorded 37 deaths, though only four — all from the Cordillera Administrative Region — have been positively confirmed so far.
Of the 33 fatalities still under validation, 19 were from Bicol, eight from Cagayan Valley, two each from Central Luzon and Central Visayas, and one each from Eastern Visayas and Mimaropa.
Damage assessments showed 88,743 houses destroyed, including 16,025 totally damaged and 72,718 partially damaged.
Losses were estimated at ₱1.64 billion in agriculture and ₱1.01 billion in infrastructure.
