The combined impact of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and tropical cyclones Mirasol, Nando, and Opong has affected 3,537,686 people, or 936,566 families, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) report released on Tuesday.
Of the total, 105,611 individuals are sheltering in evacuation centers, while 82,947 are staying in other temporary locations. All regions except Northern Mindanao and Davao have reported affected populations, with the highest numbers in Bicol (1,296,134), the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (519,650), and Western Visayas (461,404).
The weather disturbances triggered flooding, storm surges, landslides, tornadoes, structural collapses, vehicular accidents, and drownings.
The death toll stands at 27 — four confirmed — with 16 missing and 33 injured.
Damage estimates reached ₱1.01 billion in agriculture and ₱979.6 million in infrastructure. A total of 21,897 houses were damaged, including 3,608 destroyed. Fifty roads and 14 bridges remain impassable, while power outages persist in 66 areas. Water supply disruptions were reported in four areas, and communication issues in 27.
Twenty-eight seaports are still non-operational, leaving 2,606 passengers, 928 rolling cargoes, and 21 vessels stranded. One previously affected airport in Mimaropa has resumed normal operations.
Classes were suspended in 1,156 areas, and work was suspended in 915 areas.
States of calamity have been declared in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte; Cagayan province; Masbate province; Ibajay, Aklan; and Pagalungan, Maguindanao del Sur.
So far, ₱204.7 million worth of assistance has been provided to affected communities, according to the NDRRMC.
