The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) has cited the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) as one of the top national agencies in Gender and Development (GAD) budget allocation and spending.
During the awarding ceremony on Sept. 25 at Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria in Quezon City, OPAPRU ranked fifth in client-focused GAD budget allocation and third in client-focused GAD budget expenditures.
Susana Guadalupe Marcaida, executive director of the Peace Sustainability Cluster and Women, Peace and Security Center of Excellence, accepted the recognition on behalf of OPAPRU. Marcaida also serves as executive committee head of OPAPRU’s GAD Focal Point System.
Officials said the award underscores OPAPRU’s commitment to advancing gender-responsive programs in line with the government’s peace and reconciliation initiatives.
