A total of 100 domestic flights that were scheduled for Friday have been canceled, affecting thousands of passengers.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has suspended 32 flights at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to and from local destinations, including Tacloban, Caticlan, Legazpi, Catarman, Busuanga, Borongan, Roxas, and Basco.

Cebu Pacific (CEB), along with its sister airlines CebGo and AirSwift, has suspended 48 flights in Manila to and from Caticlan, Naga, El Nido, Cebu, Legazpi, Tacloban, and Virac.

CEB and CebGo have also canceled flights in Clark International Airport to and from Busuanga and El Nido; Cebu to and from Legazpi, Masbate, and Calbayog; and Iloilo to and from Legazpi.

On the other hand, AirAsia Philippines has suspended 20 flights, affecting air travelers in Manila traveling to and from Caticlan and Kalibo.

CebGo and AirSwift have also canceled nine flights scheduled for Saturday, September 27, affecting travelers in Cebu, El Nido, and Manila.

Passengers have been advised not to go to the airport if their flights have been canceled.

The airlines have provided the following options: rebooking the ticket, converting it to travel credits, or obtaining a refund for the ticket.

In Manila, the New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC), the airport’s private operator, stated that Typhoon Opong is anticipated to bring strong winds and heavy rainfall to various parts of Luzon from Friday evening until Saturday.

“This may impact flights and travel to and from NAIA. Before proceeding to the airport, please verify with your airline for the latest updates, as some flights may experience delays or cancellations,” stated the management of NNIC.
