The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said it has completed its first collaboration with Pasig City, integrating the National ID authentication services with PasigPass.
The integration, formalized on Sept. 5, will enable the Pasig City government to validate PasigPass accounts and remove duplicates or fraudulent entries, ensuring a more targeted delivery of public services.
The PasigPass, introduced during the Covid-19 pandemic, uses verified resident information to protect Pasig residents against identity fraud and to facilitate the data-driven delivery of services.
“This initiative not only advances [the city’s] goal of improving the efficiency and integrity of public service delivery but also enables the provision of financial assistance and other vital programs with greater speed, transparency, and reliability,” said assistant secretary Rosalinda Bautista.
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said the integration is the “best solution” for challenges in verifying the identity of Pasig residents for local government programs.
The PSA said it has already integrated the National ID authentication services in several other local governments, including Tublay and Tuba in Benguet and Maasin City in Southern Leyte.
