Alicia, Isabela – The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) celebrated a major milestone with 1,500 households graduating in Cagayan Valley.
The regional graduation ceremony, held in Alicia, Isabela on September 16, 2025 honored 10 college graduate beneficiaries’ hard work and perseverance.
Alicia Mayor Joel Amos Alejandro warmly welcomed the attendees and delivered an inspiring message to the 4Ps graduates during the 4Ps Regional “Pamaddayaw na Paggradua na Pantawid Pamilya,” a ceremony for exiting households, showcasing his support for the program and its beneficiaries.
Alejandro reiterated the local government unit’s commitment to supporting the 4Ps beneficiaries, emphasizing that their graduation marks not only an achievement, but also a new chapter in their journey towards self-sufficiency.
He encouraged the graduates to utilize the skills and knowledge they have gained to uplift their families and communities, and assured them of the local government’s continued support in their endeavors.
Alejandro also highlighted the importance of collaboration between the local government and national agencies in achieving meaningful development outcomes. He expressed optimism that the success of the 4Ps program will inspire more families to strive for a better future.
Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Director Gemma Gabuya lauded the graduates’ determination and resilience, emphasizing that their success is a testament to the program’s effectiveness in empowering families and promoting self-sufficiency.
Gabuya expressed gratitude to the Alicia LGU for their unwavering support and sponsorship, which has been instrumental in the program’s success.
“With the Department’s ongoing efforts to provide livelihood opportunities and other interventions, she expressed confidence that the graduates will maintain their momentum and become productive members of their communities,” she said.
Gabuya also highlighted the importance of continued government support and partnership in ensuring that the graduating households sustain their progress and continue to improve their socio-economic status.
DSWD Regional Director Lucia Alan commended the beneficiaries for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to improving their lives. She likewise expressed confidence that they will continue to thrive and become productive members of their communities.
Alan highlighted that the graduating families have successfully met the necessary criteria to exit the program, based on thorough assessments conducted by the department. She said this milestone is a testament to the program’s effectiveness in empowering families and enabling them to break the cycle of poverty.
In a heartwarming gesture, different town mayors across the Cagayan Valley region presented each beneficiary with financial assistance to support their livelihood endeavors.
The local government officials pledged continued support to ensure the sustainability of the program’s benefits, empowering the graduates to maintain their progress and build a brighter future for their families.
The event was attended by regional leaders, advisory committee members, and the graduates themselves, highlighting the program’s impact and the community’s involvement.
