Online gamers get added protection with new surety bond program
What happens when the country’s first Filipino domestic insurance company and a pioneering digital entertainment company join forces? They launch the country’s first surety bond program for online gaming players.
DigiPlus Interactive Corp., operator of BingoPlus, ArenaPlus, and GameZone, said Wednesday it has partnered with Philippine First Insurance Co. Inc. (PhilFirst) to roll out the program, which took effect immediately.
The bond safeguards eligible player balances of up to P1 million each without requiring customers to buy a separate policy. To qualify, players must be verified through electronic Know-Your-Customer checks, have made at least one successful deposit, and remain in good standing with platform rules.
“DigiPlus is proud to be the first in the industry to roll out this level of consumer protection,” DigiPlus chairman Eusebio H. Tanco said. “With this surety bond, they can play confidently on BingoPlus, ArenaPlus, and GameZone, knowing that their funds are safeguarded.”
The measure adds to DigiPlus’ customer service features, which include 24/7 support and more than 130 BingoPlus physical outlets nationwide that already serve as trusted stores for players.
PhilFirst, founded in 1906, is the country’s first domestic insurance company. It offers non-life insurance coverage for homes, motor vehicles, travel, liability, marine, engineering, and bonds. The company said the partnership reflects its mission to evolve with the market while providing financial protection.

DigiPlus, which pioneered digital entertainment in the Philippines, said the partnership underscores its goal of raising industry standards by pairing engaging gaming with stronger guarantees of security and trust.
