It’s been three years since her groundbreaking win as the first-ever champion of Drag Race Philippines, and Precious Paula Nicole continues to soar—this time on the international stage.
The drag artist took home her first global acting accolade after being named Best Lead Performance at the CinePride Film Festival in Los Angeles on September 15.
She stars as Sampaguita in Lip Sync Assassin, a short film about a glamorous drag queen who secretly works as a contract killer to support her daughter and ailing mother.
The role pushed her to new heights, and her performance earned rave reviews during the film’s world premiere at Landmark Theatres Sunset in West Hollywood earlier this month.
The film also won Best Director for Jon Galvez and features a cast that includes Peewee O’Hara, child actress Erin Espiritu, Argel Saycon, and fellow drag queen Mrs. Tan.
Following its LA run, Lip Sync Assassin will make its Philippine premiere at the Sinag Maynila Film Festival from Sept. 24 to 30 in select cinemas.
