Lieutenant General Arthur Cordura, the Philippine Air Force’s (PAF) commanding general, urged airmen and civilian personnel to remain steadfast in their oath of service, stressing that loyalty must remain with the Constitution, the Filipino people, and the Republic.
In his 3rd Quarter message, Cordura underscored the PAF’s efforts to strengthen territorial defense and enhance operational readiness amid evolving security challenges.
Over the past quarter, the Air Force advanced several initiatives, including the refinement of command-and-control systems, the development of a battle management system, and organizational restructuring, he noted.
It also bolstered international defense engagement through sustained dialogues and joint activities with partners and allies, such as Exercise Cope Thunder, Amphibious and Land Operations (ALON), Maritime Cooperative Activities (MCA), and the Mutual Defense Board-Security Engagement Board (MDB-SEB) in Hawaii.
Cordura highlighted the PAF’s continued role in humanitarian assistance and disaster response, focused military operations, and support for forward operating bases.
He also pointed to the Air Force’s involvement in the Bangsamoro peace process, particularly its role in securing the region’s first elections.
To sustain these gains, Cordura said the PAF is working toward higher aircraft and facility readiness while addressing morale and welfare concerns of its personnel.
“The challenges we face demand not only strength of arms but strength of character, lived through discipline, integrity, and loyalty to our nation,” Cordura said.
The PAF chief’s remark also came amid attempts by certain groups to persuade AFP personnel to withdraw support from the incumbent administration, following the discovery of massive corruption in the government’s flood control program.
