Actress Iza Calzado has joined the chorus of voices condemning the alleged flood control scam, saying Filipinos have every right to feel anger and grief over the issue.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Calzado admitted it has been difficult for her to process the news while she is in England with her family. She said she even held back from sharing vacation photos online, fearing it would come across as insensitive.
“Malaki na ang nawala sa atin at tama lang na tayo’y magalit at magluksa,” she wrote, adding that she felt helpless being away from the Philippines.
Calzado said the unfolding scandal has left her heartbroken and angry, but also hopeful that Filipinos are beginning to “see the light” and call for accountability.
She emphasized that lasting change will not come from a single politician but through collective effort: “Hindi natin dapat iasa sa iisang tao o grupo o politiko ang pagbabago; kundi tayo mismo ang magbabago nito.”
The Kapamilya star closed her post with a prayer for justice and healing, expressing hope that those responsible will be held accountable.
