Beijing- The Philippines showcased its economic momentum with back-to-back participation in two of China’s premier international trade fairs this month: the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) in Beijing and the China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) in Xiamen.
Ambassador Jaime FlorCruz, speaking during the Philippine country forum and the opening of the Philippine pavilion at CIFTIS, invited Chinese investors, innovators, and entrepreneurs to choose the Philippines as an ideal destination for future ventures. “The Philippines is a highly resilient, globally competitive hub for services in Asia,” he said.
The Philippine pavilion highlighted strengths in tourism and hospitality, digital services, health and wellness, creative industries, and education and professional services. It was organized by the Department of Tourism-Beijing and the Philippine Trade and Investment Center-Beijing. Visitors were treated to local coffee, fruits, cultural performances, and trivia games.
Earlier in the week, the Philippines also took part in CIFIT in Xiamen, where matchmaking meetings were held with Chinese enterprises. Ambassador FlorCruz said the country’s strong showing in both trade fairs demonstrates consistency and resolve in promoting the Philippines as a premier destination for trade and investment from China.
