The Philippine Army on Friday began a three-day block screening of the award-winning documentary Food Delivery: Fresh from the West Philippine Sea at the Venice Grand Canal Mall in Taguig City.
The film runs from September 12 to 14.
Directed by Baby Ruth Villarama, the documentary won Best Picture in the Tides of Change category at the 2025 Doc Edge Festival in New Zealand. It depicts the bravery of Filipino soldiers and fisherfolk defending the West Philippine Sea.
Army vice commander MGen. Efren Morados led the opening screening on behalf of Army chief LtGen. Antonio Nafarrete. He praised Villarama and the creative sector for their role in igniting nationalism and honoring troops.
Nearly 3,000 soldiers and ROTC cadets are expected to attend the screenings. The Army said it fully supports initiatives that highlight the sacrifices of personnel guarding the nation’s territory and sovereignty.
