Artes, who also serves as MMFF chairman, said the book reflects the history of Filipino cinema and honors the people who contributed to the industry’s vitality. He thanked President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for supporting the MMFF and promoting Filipino narratives.

The event included the formal turnover of the “50 Years of Metro Manila Film Festival” book published by ABS-CBN Publishing. Hall of Famers were also recognized for their contributions to the MMFF.

Two months earlier, the MMDA revealed the first four official entries for this year’s festival: Call Me Mother, Rekonek, Manila’s Finest, and Shake, Rattle, and Roll Evilo Origins.
