Comedy icon Michael V. has once again set social media abuzz after unveiling his latest parody on GMA Network’s Bubble Gang, where he plays “Ciala Dismaya,” a character inspired by a controversial public figure.
The sketch, teased on Sept. 8, quickly went viral even before his face was revealed.
“Nagulat ako dahil nakatalikod pa lang, ‘di pa nga nila nakikita ‘yung mukha, na-excite na agad ‘yung mga tao,” Michael V., known as Bitoy, said.
The comedian admitted he had noticed the resemblance himself while watching a Senate hearing. “Ako mismo napansin ko na. Parang kamukha ko siya. Parang konting effort na lang magagaya ko na siya,” he said.
According to Bitoy, he initially held back from imitating the figure but gave in after receiving a flood of messages from fans. He later pitched the idea to the show’s creative team, who had the same parody in mind.
Michael V. stressed that the skit aims to deliver humor without malice.
“Kung ano ‘yung issue sa Senado, ‘yun din ang issue na tinackle namin. Pero as usual with the Bubble Gang formula, kailangan ilihis mo ng konti at humorous siya,” he said.
The spoof airs tomorrow night, Sept. 14, at 6:10 in Bubble Gang, with Bitoy promising, “This Sunday, babaha ng katatawanan.”
