First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) and 12 of its tenants were recognized by the local government of Santo Tomas City, Batangas for being among the city’s largest sources of revenue and new jobs in 2024.
Mayor Arth Jhun Marasigan presented plaques of recognition to FPIP, its tenants and other major taxpayers and employers during the city’s Taxpayers’ Day celebration on Sept. 1 at FPIP’s Consuelo Park Pavilion.
City records show that FPIP and its tenants contributed a combined P159 million in taxes last year, accounting for 17 percent of Santo Tomas’ P935 million income. They also generated 60 percent of the city’s nearly 12,500 new jobs in 2024.
“We are honored to be part of Santo Tomas’ growth,” said Ricky Carandang, head of FPIP’s external affairs and marketing department.
“We are happy that our contributions help the local government deliver fast and efficient public services and jobs to the people of Santo Tomas,” he said.
In the real property tax category, FPIP and nine of its tenants made the city’s top 20 list, led by Dyson Philippines, which ranked first. FPIP itself placed seventh.
Other tenants on the list included Ibiden Philippines (4th), Nippon Premium Bakery (8th), YKK Philippines (12th), First Batangas Hotel (18th) and Energy Development Corporation (20th).
Amcor Flexible Philippines, a sustainable packaging producer, was cited as both the fourth top real property tax contributor and the fifth top business tax contributor. Shoketsu SMC Corporation and Nippon Express Philippines also ranked among the city’s top business taxpayers.
In terms of job creation, three FPIP tenants were among the city’s top five job creators in 2024. These included top hirers Nexem-EMD Technologies, the Philippine Manufacturing Company of Murata, and Brother Industries Philippines.
A joint venture between First Philippine Holdings Corp. and Japan’s Sumitomo Corp., FPIP hosts more than 150 global manufacturers and continues to create thousands of high-value jobs for Filipinos.
