The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) on Friday revealed its target to equip all local government units (LGUs) in the country with patient transport vehicles (PTVs) this year.
PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles said they have committed P1 billion in funding for the procurement of an additional 375 PTVs by the end of 2025.
According to him, the PSCO has delivered a total of 1,297 PTVs, covering 75.23 percent of the 1,724 LGUs nationwide.
“This marks a significant leap towards achieving universal access to medical transport. This is very important to our people because not all of them have hospitals. It is important that we bring the health care from the grassroots,” Robles said in his message during the Charity Summit 2025.
“By the end of this year, PCSO has committed P1 billion more for the procurement of 375 PTVs, keeping us firmly on track to achieve 100-percent nationwide coverage of all 1,724 [LGUs],” he added.
Each PTV is equipped with a stretcher, oxygen tank, wheelchair, first aid kit, blood pressure monitor, and medicine cabinet to ensure the safe and timely transport of patients.
