Awra Briguela has opened up about his journey as a “transgender woman” and his thoughts on gender reassignment surgery, saying it’s something he plans to pursue when the time is right.
In a podcast interview with content creator Killa Kush, the Kapamilya star shared that while he once identified as gay, his perspective shifted when he realized he wanted to be recognized and treated as a woman.
“Gusto kong itrato ako bilang babae, gusto ko yung tingin sa akin babae,” he said.
Asked if he is considering surgery, Awra was candid: “Hindi pa ngayon, pero may plano din ako magpa-sex change. I’m still too young,” he said, explaining that he wants to be fully certain before making such a life-changing decision.
Awra also mentioned a unique reason for his hesitation: his love for the muscles he has built over the years. “Parang it makes me so unique kaya hindi ko siya mapatanggal,” he said.
For now, the actor is putting his career on pause to focus on education, weighing his options between Mass Communications and Multimedia Arts—courses he believes align with his creative path.
