Carla Abellana grew emotional after discovering a run-over dog in Quezon City, sharing on social media that she decided to give the animal a proper burial.
On Threads, the actress said she found the aspin lying by the gutter with visible injuries.
“It seems like somebody hit the aspin and either managed, or was still kind enough, to move the dog’s body to the gutter by the sidewalk,” she wrote.

Abellana returned to the site with her driver, wrapping the dog in blankets she kept in her car. Fighting back tears, she said she wanted to give the animal dignity in death.
“At least give him the burial he deserves,” she added, saying she planned to lay the dog to rest in a vacant lot near her home.
The actress also used the moment to call attention to the plight of stray animals, urging the public to adopt, spay, and neuter pets to prevent further suffering.

“Every time I’m on the road, I try my best… hopefully, more of you will try your best to help rescue, save, feed, and adopt,” she said.
Abellana has long been an animal welfare advocate, previously adopting rescues and helping injured strays.
