Champagne, karaoke, and a panoramic sunset

Luxury is one thing, but genuine hospitality is what turns a trip into an experience. That was clear when Cebu Cruises and Shangri-La Mactan joined forces to host members of the press for a day at sea, where every detail, from the welcome to the final farewell, was handled with care.

The setting was Princess Flybridge, an 85-foot luxury yacht.

With four bedrooms (each with a toilet and bath, and the main bedroom featuring its own walk-in closet and bathtub), generous lounge areas, and elegant interiors, the vessel offered comfort at every turn. Yet what made the day truly memorable was how Captain Lou and his crew welcomed everyone with ease, creating an atmosphere of thoughtful hospitality throughout the journey.

From the moment guests stepped on deck, it was clear how thoughtfully the experience had been prepared. Refreshments were ready, greetings were warm, and there was a genuine sense of personal attention.

As the yacht glided across the Visayan waters, the staff made sure everyone could settle in comfortably, enjoy conversations, and take in uninterrupted views of the islands.

Dining became a highlight that showcased Shangri-La’s signature service. A full lunch was served with refinement, followed later in the afternoon by canapés and cocktails. Each course flowed naturally into the next, with staff appearing at just the right moments. It’s the kind of experience that created an atmosphere where everyone felt completely at home.

The activities carried the same sense of hospitality. A round of karaoke on deck turned into a joyful shared moment, while the yacht’s facilities (space for jet skis and a dinghy) were introduced as part of a future promise of adventure paired with comfort. Guests also had the chance to go snorkeling at San Vicente, followed by a stop at a sandbar where a photo op captured the beauty of the day.

Guests are welcomed aboard with a variety of drinks, snacks, and warm hospitality

As the day drew to a close, the crew led guests to the flybridge for the best views. Drinks were topped up, conversations flowed, and the sky lit up in shades of orange and pink. It was a perfect ending, with nature’s beauty highlighted by the thoughtful care of the hosts.

When the yacht returned to Shangri-La Mactan’s private jetty, one impression stood out: Cebu Cruises and Shangri-La Mactan had shown how hospitality can turn a voyage into something extraordinary.
