The majority of Filipinos, some 83%, believe that the 2025 election results were accurate and credible, while 64% believe the COMELEC conducted free, fair, and credible national and local elections, OCTA Research’s latest survey revealed.
OCTA’s Tugon ng Masa Survey, released on Wednesday, also showed that only 4% openly distrust election results, while 14% remain undecided or were ambivalent.
In particular, trust is high in Central Visayas (99%), MIMAROPA (97%), Bicol Region (94%), Negros Island Region (91%), and Zamboanga Peninsula (91%). Meanwhile, distrust levels remain below 10% except in Cordillera Administrative Region (24%) and CARAGA (34%).
The survey also revealed that the majority of Filipinos believed that the COMELEC was able to ensure free, fair, and credible national and local elections in 2025. while 4% disagreed, and 33% remained neutral.
This belief is more pronounced among older Filipinos, with 79% of those aged 75 and above agreeing, compared to only 53% among the youngest voters (18–24 years old).
According to OCTA, these results suggest that despite political divisions and intense campaigns, most Filipinos accept the legitimacy of the electoral process and its outcomes.
This confidence reinforces democratic institutions and supports the role of COMELEC.
The face-to-face survey was conducted nationwide from July 12 to 17, 2025, with 1,200 respondents aged 18 and above.
