Rica Peralejo returns to big screen with MMFF 2025 film ‘Manila’s Finest’

Rica Peralejo is returning to the big screen through Manila’s Finest, an official entry to the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival.

On Instagram, Peralejo posted photos from the film’s table read and story conference, sharing her excitement after years away from acting. “It’s been years since I read a movie script. Yet it didn’t feel strange,” she wrote.

The actress admitted one of the reasons she accepted the project was her co-star Piolo Pascual, saying his involvement assured her of the film’s quality.

She also expressed admiration for Cedrick Juan, noting that his work in a previous movie reignited her desire to act again.

Peralejo said her comeback also delighted her family, especially her mother, who turned 80 this year.

“Being my #1 fan and believer, she was deliriously happy to know I am again appearing on the big screen,” she wrote.

Directed by Rae Red and produced by MQuest Ventures and Cignal, Manila’s Finest will star Pascual as Lt. Homer Magtibay. The ensemble cast includes Enrique Gil, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Ariel Rivera, Joey Marquez, Romnick Sarmienta, Dylan Menor, and Ashtine Olviga.

The film is scheduled for release in December 2025.
